Make Magical Unicorn Snacks

Unicorn Party Recipe
I’ve been using the hashtag #myunicornlife a lot on Instagram lately. Unicorns are trendy, colorful and awesome. I put on my creative hat to create some treats using Twinkies that are perfect for a unicorn themed party — or just because you deserve something magical.
Make a unicorn dessert bowl
To make this colorful, Instagrammable unicorn bowl, I sliced strawberries and fudge-covered twinkies into a ramekin dish. You could also use the chocolate brownie flavor twinkies pictured above! If you haven’t heard of this chocolateful twist on Twinkies before, that’s because they’re new — find out more.
Next is the fun part — add shredded coconut and sprinkles for pizzaz. Eat with a tiny spoon!
Well that couldn’t have been easier, right? It barely counts as a recipe, because you’re just slicing stuff up and adding toppings. My next unicorn party treat idea is just as simple and also more adorable.
Unicorn Twinkie Pops
In Minnesota, there’s a huge state fair in August with every kind of food on a stick, including deep fried twinkies. In the state fair spirit, you can make your own no-bake unicorn cake pops!
The key to these cake pops is unicorn candy decorations — you can order something similar at Etsy. You could also use a cupcake topper for a similar effect.
Push a candy stick into the snack cake, and decorate it with a curled ribbon. Add sprinkles to the top of the snack cake. You’ll want to frost the cake first. Fudge covered twinkies already have a layer of soft frosting, but you might choose to add a bit more to secure the sprinkles.

Make a Cake Banner for Valentine’s Day
Want to be the hit of the party? Make this too-cute-for-words cake topper
I made this cake that’s free of gluten and refined sugar for a meeting last week. Absolutely no one who knew me was surprised when I brought out a white cake stand, pink cake and Valentine’s Day cake banner, because cutesy decoration is kinda my thing. However, I was a little surprised at how well it went over. My ultra-healthy treats aren’t always the hit of the party but this cake was definitely the exception. I read once that pink makes sweets look irresistible! I think this cake topper definitely proves that true. Everyone couldn’t wait to dig in, and I think the aesthetic presentation played a big part in that.
Make a Valentine’s cake topper
Ready to make a cake banner? The best part is that’s it’s really easy but looks totally impressive when it’s done.
Step 1: Cut four or five triangles of fabric. The fabric can be of your choice. If you have heaps of fabric scraps like I do, this is a perfect use for them. Upcycle those fabric scraps!
Step 2: Then I used tacky glue on the triangle’s edge to affix it to the string. I used If You Care cooking twine because I love their Eco-friendly, unbleached cooking products, but you can use any twine or yarn you like.
Step 3: Then tie the ends of the string onto two chopsticks or bamboo barbecue skewers. After it’s dry it’s ready to place into the cake. I made the topper the same day and it was ready to go. The tacky glue dries quickly, but you could use hot glue if you want it ready even faster.
I hope you enjoy this cake topper as much I did! It’s definitely an easy way to wow your guests at any event. There is always an occasion to celebrate with cake!

Chocolate Chip Snowman Cookies
Do you want to bake a snowman?
It’s easier than you think! After seeing a few other bloggers make snowman brownies, I decided why not try snowman cookies? They’d be popular with the kids I babysit for and look really cute on display at a potluck holiday party. And they’re gluten free when you use this brand of frozen cookie dough.
I started with these things:
Ingredients:
- Pre-packaged gluten free chocolate chip cookie dough from Immaculate Baking (or use your own dough of any kind)
- Powdered sugar
- Coconut flakes
- Mini chocolate chips
- Gluten free pretzels
I used a ceramic rolling pin (pictured above) to roll the cookie rounds flat.
After baking, add pretzel stick arms to half the cookies. After cooling, simply add put two cookies together, frost, and sprinkle with coconut flakes.
Decorate with mini chocolate chip eyes. The nose is a real carrot, cut to size. You could probably add a frosting scarf and make a hat out of something-if you figure that part out let me know!
Now your snowman entourage is ready to go to holiday parties (or right into your tummy).
